Connect. Collaborate.
Create.
Our Story
OpenMic was born from a familiar tension every musician knows too well:
the search for people who get you.
Across music schools, remote setups, and city scenes, the struggle remained the same: finding collaborators who understood not just the craft, but the care. The ones who take their art seriously and show up with intention.
The ones who feel like creative kin.
Traditional tools offered little help. Outdated platforms, self-promotion-first mindsets, and predatory marketplaces made collaboration feel cold and transactional. So the idea started where many good ones do with a simple question: what if there were something better?
The spark took shape through quiet brainstorming, late-night conversations
at 24 hour diners, and a single comment that changed the path:
“This sounds more like an app than a website.”
From there, OpenMic began to build. What started as a small project between collaborators evolved into a growing team across LA and New York.
Our Vision
At OpenMic, our mission is to make finding the right collaborators feel natural and exciting. We’re creating a musician network that feels intuitive, intentional, and alive.
OpenMic is not just another music networking app. It’s built for the full spectrum of musicians: introverts, obsessives, perfectionists, hobbyists, professionals, genre-blenders, and quiet talents.
It’s not about followers or streams. It’s about connection, and the belief that great music starts when the right people meet.
